When complexity and constraints demand capability beyond the ordinary,
companies turn to us

We are specialists in equipment rental and an expert provider of people, services and support, principally for the Infrastructure, Construction, Housebuilding and Energy markets.

We are involved in many of the critical projects which allow economies to grow, in the UK and overseas.

Building a diverse pipeline for growth

Although there are several suppliers of pipe stoppers and pressure testing equipment, Stoppers is the only one that specialises in serving the water industry. Seven years ago, Stoppers developed a strategy to diversify into new markets and products, increasing the potential customer base while reducing the impact of lower periods of demand in AMP cycles.

Stoppers has diversified into wastewater plants, highways, housing and commercial, energy and industrial markets, growing its product portfolio to include water-related items such as pressure data capture, chlorination and rehabilitation products, and flood protection barriers.

Investing in young people while inspiring change

Vp apprentices take part in programmes created by the Brathay Trust, which supports over 7,000 young people each year, inspiring growth and positive change that lasts a lifetime.

Brathay inspires young people from across the UK to build their own brighter futures from primary school age through to their early careers. They deliver experiential residential programmes at their Lake District centre and in community settings in Bradford and Cumbria. People who take part in the programmes benefit from long-lasting positive influence and engagement in all aspects of their lives, often at a transitional time in their life.

Extension of the Vienna metro

Deep excavations, 32 metres below the Austrian capital required the use of an innovative concept pioneered by our trenching and shoring business, Groundforce. This bracing prevents movement and collapse on the Vienna metro expansion. The project is part of a major expansion to the network.

Hinkley Point C nuclear power station project

Vp businesses are providing expertise, equipment and ongoing support to several contractors working at Hinkley Point C. This includes servicing rescue equipment to be used in an emergency in the three massive cooling tunnels being built under the Bristol Channel. Also, our rotational telehandlers have helped lift six enormous tunnel heads into place on the seabed.

One-stop-shop for rail customers

With end market focus a key part of our refreshed strategy in 2024 we launched an integrated rail solution. Customers have direct access to all of the Group's rail specialisms through a one-sto-shop approach which has already been well received.

We have made it easier for our customers to work and transact with us, through a single point of contact for project support, a central hire desk, and a streamlined quotation and invoicing process regardless of the size of the project.

CPH - Strong fit for the Group

In October 2024, Vp acquired a majority interest of Charleville Hire & Platform Ltd (CPH), one of Ireland's leading specialist powered access companies.

CPH is one of Ireland's leading specialist powered access companies principally servicing the growing pharma, renewables, technology, and food ingredient sectors. The acquisition builds on the Group's specialist capabilities, particularly in the access market and provides complementary specialisms to our existing divisions.
